Background

Coexistence

If we were to choose one word that signifies the core/essence of this education, it would be- COEXISTENCE. It’s what brings teachers, children and their families from near and far together to the Global Guardians School.

Coexistence means existing together. Madhyasth Darshan categories everything we see on the Earth into four orders or distinct stages:

Matter Order
Plant Order
Animal Order
Knowledge Order

Core Educational Principles

  • Understanding of harmonious coexistence in all aspects of life,
  • Development of consciousness through self-reflection and awareness
  • Integration of universal human values in daily living
  • Balancing intellectual, emotional, and physical development
  • Nurturing a deep connection with nature and all living beings

Together these four orders can be called Nature. In nature we can see that each order:

    • has a definite role in the larger existence
    • Is intricately interrelated with all the other orders
    • functions with law, regulation and balance and through this, creates the conditions for the next stage to emerge
    • has a definite/unique way in which it participates in the continuity and balance of all four orders

On this basis, we can say that each order is complementary to all the other orders and thus, each order is useful. We can find this same principle of usefulness and complementariness from the smallest atom to the entire cosmos, and each and every one of us is an inseparable part of this web of relationships! In the existence, there is an inherent balance, order, or harmony. Simply put-harmonious coexistence!

Educational Philosophy

Madhyasth Darshan (The Worldview of Harmonious Coexistence) propounded by A. Nagraj, is a comprehensive knowledge system that fosters holistic and harmonious living. It is a new development in human understanding which proposes that all of existence coexists in a harmonious system. Everything is related to everything else and nothing exists in isolation.

In order for human beings to be in harmony, there is a need to understand this coexistence and live accordingly. Understanding harmony in existence, harmony in oneself (jeevan/consciousness) and human conduct (living with values, character and ethics), leads to living in harmony with each other and all of nature. Living with humane conduct is the foundation for establishing harmonious systems leading to a thriving Earth.

This Worldview sees that:

  • Everything is related and nothing exists in isolation
  • There is an inherent harmony and balance in the existence from the atomic to cosmic level
  • Human has the potential to evidence the same harmony
  • Education provides an opportunity to understand and participate/evidence in harmonious coexistence
